This year's Boxing Day Curling Funspiel consists of 2 six end games with an entry fee of a wrapped gift in the $8 to $10 price range. Early draws: 9am and 12pm and Late draws 10.30am and 1.30pm. There will be prizes for each competitor and lunch is available. The sign-up sheet is at the curling clubhouse on Granite Lane.
Feedback from last week's article on Seniors Tuesday and Thursday morning curling found the article to be rather misleading, as shift Workers (and people taking the day off) are also very welcome to come and play a game of curling on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. This is open to curling club members, and visitors using the $10 day pass ($5 for juniors). It is not unheard of for some local curlers who are on shift to take the morning option to keep fit and up to snuff with their curling skills in a friendly social atmosphere. This includes joining in on the Seniors' Christmas Bonspiel Friday 17th December 2004 (sign-up sheet at the club-house). For more information contact Lyall Smith (Tel: 584-2362, PO Box 1045). For new members, adult club membership is $195 per season and there is a $10 curling day pass ($5 juniors). Membership forms and information are available from the club house, writing to the club at PO Box 385, Deep River, K0J 1P0, the club website at http://lachlan.bluehaze.com.au/drcsc/ or contacting Janice Bunge (584-2347; bunge@magma.ca)
As per the above, the same goes for squash. Players of all persuasions are welcome for the Monday, Wednesday and Friday squash mornings that start at 9:00am. Contacts for the morning sessions are Bente Neilson (bniel@sympatico.ca ; 584-3752) Al Okazaki (aokazaki@magma.ca ; 584-2715) or Colin Orpen (colin.orpen@sympatico.ca ; 584-9404). As these are informal drop in squash sessions, it is best to phone one of the above to check
Brochures and entry forms for the Deep River 2005 Open Cash Bonspiel are available on the web via http://lachlan.bluehaze.com.au/drcsc/bonspiel_cl.html .
