The 2004 Seniors' Christmas Bonspiel was its usual pleasant well attended event lasting from 8am to 4pm involving early and late draws. A good time was had by all and everyone was well fed due to the lunch catering by Laurentian Dairy. As is usual for seniors events, who won and who won lower down on the list is not considered relevant. Every team received appropriate prizes for their efforts, though in presenting bottles of wine to the late draw winners, Lyall observed that the winning team skip was an aficionado of the "standing delivery" (using the broom to launch the rock). Participants also presented a gift of appreciation to Lyall for his organization of the event (pictured below).
Monday night competitive curling included a close game between Ken Deugau on the red rocks and Andrew White on the yellow. Before the final end, both teams were tied on a score of 6, Deugau having scored 3 on the 7th end to level. On the 8th and final end, Deugau's last rock put them 1st and 2nd shot. While White managed to take out the Deugau shot rock, his delivery had too much lateral momentum on contact, and was swept out of the center of the house to leave the Deugau team the winners. As per usual, the winners' prize was to buy the losing team a round of drinks at the bar.
