The 2007 Deep River Curling and Squash club is organizing
a squash weekend, including a visit from a high-level squash
pro (James Hayes) and a few top Amateur squash players
from Ottawa, on December 7/8 . The activities will include
"challenge the pro", rust remover squash tournament,
demonstration games, squash lessons and socials. James
will also be setting up an equipment sale with racquets,
balls, grips, shoes and racquet stringing.
If you have not already signed up for squash, this is the perfect time to do
it. This year, the annual squash membership fee is $ 200 . The club also
offers Curling activities and a bar for social events. This year's
registration form can be obtained via

- iv) visiting the club house during a scheduled curling or squash event.

Friday evening (December 7th)
- 5:30-7:30 Rust remover Squash tournament for local players
- 7:30 to 9:00 PM - Challenge the Pro
- 9:00 PM - Social (Beer and Pizza)
Saturday (December 8th)
- Morning - Private Lessons (time to be discussed with James Hayes) $30 for a 30 minute session
- 1:00 PM - Deep River Invitational tournament
James Hayes
The visiting squash pro James Hayes has been coaching squash for 17
years. He coached Jacqui Inward who was #1 in North America for girls
under 15-17 and again later in girls under 19. James has also coached
Ruchika and Neha Kumar who have both been top North American Junior
Champions, several times.
James has played at the national level and still competes provincially
when possible. He has helped many intermediate and beginners to play a
better game while keeping the focus on having fun. On Saturday,
8th Dec 2007, James will be offering private lessons.
